Why attend therapy?

Sometimes we need someone outside of ourselves to help guide and direct us; an objective voice that can speak into our situation. Clients experience benefits in their relationships, work, faith, and mood when attending therapy. Therapy is a space for you to experience clarity and healing in various areas of your life.

What therapeutic modalities do you use?

I primarily use an approach called Dynamic Emotion Focused Therapy (DEFT ) which is affect driven therapy that is useful for bringing relief to all kinds of distress. I find it helps people connect with themselves as well as in their relationships. I also use an eclectic mix of therapeutic interventions that include; EMDR, experiential,  mindfulness, psychodynamic, and play therapy depending on the needs of the person.

Do you offer a free consultation?

I offer a free consultation done over the phone. I use this time to get to know you and what brings you into therapy. This is also a great time for you to ask any questions regarding therapy or my style and see if we are a fit.

Do you take insurance?

Currently, the only insurance I take is Optum/UHC/Oscar and Aetna, for all other insurances I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company.

Do I have to be a Christian to see you?

No you do not, I respect where each client is at spiritually in their respective faith journeys. I have experience with clients that have a multitude of faith backgrounds.

How long does a session last?

About 50 minutes. I see most clients 1-2 times a week depending on need, we can discuss what works best with your schedule.

What is a sliding scale?

Generally speaking some therapists will leave open lower fee spots for clients that are not able to afford the full fee.  The therapist will then "slide" lower then the full fee. This is dependent upon the therapist as well as the availability of these lower fee spots.

Who do you work with?

I work with children age 5 and up, teens, young adults, adults, and the elderly.
